Indoor Kids Birthday Party and Party Room Near Barrie

A birthday trip south for Barrie families

Some Barrie parents want the birthday to feel like an outing: load the car, head south to Aurora and give the group an afternoon they will talk about at school on Monday. Lazer Runner is built for that kind of day. The arena at 2 Allaura Blvd, Unit 10 is filled with fog, music, special-effects lighting and obstacles, and the party package keeps the room, the games and the food in one booking.

Since your guests are travelling together, it helps that everything is fixed in advance: a private party room for 1 hour 50 minutes, two private games and pizza ready for the group. You are not piecing the day together from separate stops.

Tweens, teens and the birthday they want

Older kids in Barrie often turn down parties they see as too young for them. Laser tag suits that age group because the arena is played by kids, teens and adults alike. Players gear up in fibre-optic vests and a responsive phaser, and the vests are available for all ages, so a tall teen fits as well as a younger guest.

For a competitive group, staff can lean on modes such as Eliminator, Switcher or You’re IT, and adjust shots, lives and handicaps to keep the score close. For a mixed group, team modes with up to 3 vest colours spread the strong players around.

Sports team and group parties from Barrie

Lazer Runner hosts sports team parties, youth group events and other group outings alongside birthdays. Mondays are closed to the public and reserved for private groups by reservation, which gives a team or club a quieter day to book. Call 647.500.8512 to ask about a Monday group.

Budgeting a Barrie party before you send invitations

Every package starts at 10 players, and extra players are added one at a time. For a weekend party of 16 players:

• Special: $320 plus 6 extra players at $29 adds up to $494 + HST.
• VIP: $420 plus 6 extra players at $37 adds up to $642 + HST.

Booked on a weekday instead, the same packages start at $290 for the Special and $390 for the VIP. Check the party packages page for every inclusion before you choose.

Timing the day so nobody misses a game

All players must arrive by the start time, and the arena asks for arrival 10 minutes early. Late arrivals can cut into game time, so build some slack into the plan when guests are coming from Barrie. Saturdays run from 10:30 am to 9:00 pm and Sundays from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, which leaves room for a morning or an afternoon start.

Have each guest’s parent sign the waiver before the trip. It is required before play, and finishing it at home means the group can head straight into the arena.

Packing list for the party room

• The birthday cake, plus a knife and a lighter, since neither is provided.
• Any nut-free extras you want beyond the included pizza and drinks.
• Candles for the cake.

A refrigerator is available to keep the cake cold while the group plays. To hold your date, book online and pay the non-refundable deposit.
