Why Vaughan parents look past the indoor playground
Plenty of Vaughan birthday searches start with indoor playgrounds and soft-play rooms. Those spaces suit toddlers, yet a child turning 7, 9 or 11 often wants a party with more action and a little competition. Lazer Runner gives that guest list a fog-filled arena, fibre-optic vests, responsive phasers and a private party room reserved for your family alone.
The arena sits at 2 Allaura Blvd, Unit 10 in Aurora, right off Leslie Street. Families from across Vaughan, Maple and Woodbridge included, book here when they want a birthday that feels like an event rather than another afternoon on the slides.
We always have families visiting from Maple and Woodbridge, and their birthday groups get the same private room, private games and pizza as every other party.
One party for cousins, classmates and older siblings
A Vaughan guest list rarely stops at one classroom. Cousins, neighbours and family friends of different ages tend to show up together, and laser tag handles that mix well. Staff can run up to 3 vest colours and change shots, lives, time limits and handicaps, so a younger guest is not knocked out in the first minute and an older one still has to work for every point.
Seven game modes keep the two private games from feeling the same: Team Capture, Vampire Game, Team Play, You’re IT, Eliminator, Switcher and Individual Play. Children younger than 6 can still come along. They join free without a vest when an adult is with them, which helps when a little brother or sister would otherwise need a sitter.
Working out the cost for a bigger Vaughan group
Both packages are priced for 10 players. If your invite list is longer, each extra player is added at a set rate, so you can price the party before you send a single invitation. Here is how a 14-player party works out:
- Special on a Saturday or Sunday: $320 for the first 10, plus 4 extra players at $29, comes to $436 + HST.
- VIP on a Saturday or Sunday: $420 for the first 10, plus 4 extra players at $37, comes to $568 + HST.
- Moving the same party to a weekday lowers the base to $290 for the Special or $390 for the VIP, with extra players at $26 or $33.
The package price stays the same whether 1 or 10 players attend, so a smaller group still pays the 10-player price. That makes the extra-player rate the number to watch when the guest list is long.
Picking a party time that works for Vaughan guests
Saturday parties can run from 10:30 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday parties from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. On weekdays the arena opens at 4:00 pm, closing at 8:00 pm Tuesday to Thursday and 9:00 pm on Friday. Mondays are closed to the public and open to private groups by reservation.
Every player has to be there by the start time, and the arena asks guests to arrive 10 minutes early. When you write the invitation, give Vaughan guests a meeting time a little ahead of the booked slot so nobody misses the first game.
Food from home and a fridge for the cake
Each package includes pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni, along with drinks. Families who want to add their own dishes can bring any nut-free food they like, whether that is a favourite snack from home or a tray from a Vaughan bakery. A refrigerator keeps the birthday cake cold until it is time to sing.
The arena does not supply a knife or a lighter, so pack both with the candles. The VIP package adds pizza and cake plates, forks and napkins, which saves one more thing to remember.
How Vaughan families book
Choose a date and package online and pay the non-refundable deposit to hold it. Every player needs a signed waiver before play, and parents can complete it on the waiver page ahead of the party. Printable boy’s and girl’s invitations are on the party packages page. For questions about a date or a larger group, call the arena at 647.500.8512.
