Walk-In Laser Tag in Aurora

How a Walk-In Laser Tag Visit Works: Tips for Families

By Amir, Owner of Lazer Runner October 18, 2026 8 min read

Short answer: walk-in laser tag at Lazer Runner in Aurora is open Tuesday to Sunday, with games from $8 per person Tuesday to Thursday and $10 per person Friday to Sunday. Each game is 20 minutes. Arrive at least 10 minutes before your session, reserve a time if your group has more than six people, and make sure every player has a signed waiver.

Not every visit needs a party. Sometimes you want an after-school activity that burns energy, a family outing on a rainy Sunday, or something to do with the cousins over a long weekend. Walk-in laser tag is built for exactly that. This guide covers prices, timing, ages and the small details that make a first walk-in visit go smoothly.

Walk-in prices at a glance

Lazer Runner prices walk-ins per person, per session, with a midweek special:

SessionLengthTuesday to Thursday specialFriday to Sunday
Single game20 minutes$8$10
Double game40 minutes$15$18
3 games60 minutes$23$27

The double game is the most popular choice. It gives kids enough time to learn the arena in round one and play to win in round two. Current rates and the booking calendar are on the walk-in pricing page.

Walk-in hours

  • Monday: closed to the public (private group events and school trips by reservation)
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Friday: 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Saturday: 10:30 am to 9:00 pm
  • Sunday: 10:30 am to 7:00 pm

Lazer Runner also opens on PA days and for private events outside regular hours. Contact the team through the contact page to confirm specific dates.

Do you need to book a walk-in?

Walk-ins are welcome, and reservations are recommended. If your group is larger than six, reserve a time slot so everyone plays in the same session. You can see live availability and choose a time on the walk-in booking calendar.

Arrive at least 10 minutes before your session. Late arrivals may reduce game time, because sessions start on schedule.

Who can play

  • Players must be 6 or older to wear a vest and play.
  • Children under 6 can join free without a vest when accompanied by an adult.
  • Vests are available for all ages, so parents can play alongside kids.
  • Every player needs a signed waiver before play.

Families with a mix of ages often find walk-ins work well. A 6-year-old and a 14-year-old can play the same game, and a toddler can come along with a parent. For more on age and safety, read our laser tag age and safety guide.

How a walk-in visit works, step by step

  1. Reserve or arrive early. Pick a time on the calendar, or arrive at least 10 minutes before a session.
  2. Check in and confirm waivers. Signing the waiver online beforehand speeds this up.
  3. Briefing. Staff explain the rules and show players how the vests and phasers work.
  4. Suit up and play. Into the fog-filled arena with energetic music and effects lighting for 20 minutes per game.
  5. Scores. Check the results after each game.
  6. Arcade. Air hockey and arcade games are on site, including Super Car, Super Bike and Aliens Armageddon.

Which session length should you choose?

  • Single game (20 minutes): good for a first try or for younger kids who want a short burst of action.
  • Double game (40 minutes): the sweet spot for most families. One game to learn, one to compete.
  • 3 games (60 minutes): for kids and teens who already love laser tag and want a full hour.

On the midweek special, three games cost $23 per person, less than three single games at $24. On weekends, three games are $27 compared with $30 for three singles.

Walk-in game modes

Lazer Runner has seven game modes: Team Capture, Vampire Game, Team Play, You’re IT, Eliminator, Switcher and Individual Play. Which modes run during a walk-in session can vary. If your family has a favourite, ask at check-in. Learn how each mode works on the game modes page or in our guide to how laser tag games work.

Walk-in ideas for Aurora families

  • After-school energy burn: a Tuesday double game for $15 per child. See our after-school laser tag guide.
  • Rainy weekend: a Saturday morning visit when the arena opens at 10:30 am.
  • PA days: Lazer Runner opens on PA days, which makes it a reliable plan when school is out. Read our PA day activities guide.
  • March Break: an easy indoor outing for kids and visiting cousins. See our March Break guide.
  • Small birthday: two or three friends on the actual birthday. Our package vs walk-in guide helps you decide.

What to bring

  • Comfortable clothes you can move in
  • Running shoes or other closed, secure footwear
  • A water bottle for after the game
  • A completed waiver for each player

Darker clothing is popular because the arena lighting makes vests glow, but any comfortable outfit works.

When a party package makes more sense

If you are bringing six or more kids for a birthday, a party package usually fits better. Packages include two private games, a private party room for 1 hour and 50 minutes, pizza, drinks, invitations and a gift card for the birthday child. Prices start at $290 + HST on weekdays for 10 kids plus the birthday child free (11 in total), and adults get in free. See the party packages page for details.

Making a first walk-in visit a success

The first visit sets the tone. A few simple habits help kids, and parents, enjoy it from the first minute:

  • Talk it through on the drive. Explain that the arena has fog, music and lights, and that everyone wears a vest that lights up when tagged. Kids who know what is coming relax faster.
  • Start with a double game. One game to learn the arena, one game to try a strategy. Most kids leave wanting a third.
  • Stay together. If you are a family group, play as a team for the first game.
  • Check the score. The scores after each game give kids something to talk about and something to beat next time.
  • Leave time for the arcade. Air hockey and arcade games are on site, a good way to cool down before getting back in the car.

Walk-ins for groups of more than six

Bringing cousins, a scout den or a few families together? Groups of more than six can reserve a time slot so everyone plays in the same session. For school, camp or youth groups of 15 or more, a private field trip booking often works better. Lazer Runner’s field trip program runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and starts at $20 + tax per person for two games and 1 hour 50 minutes in a private party room. Details are on the field trips and camps page.

Walk-in value tips

  • Play Tuesday to Thursday when every session is $2 to $4 cheaper per person.
  • Choose three games if you know your kids will want more. At $23 midweek or $27 on weekends, it costs less than three singles.
  • Use a birthday gift card. Children who receive a single or double-game gift card at a Lazer Runner party can use it toward a future visit.
  • Bring younger siblings along. Under 6 joins free without a vest when accompanied by an adult.
